A friend was at yoga lying in savasana, settling in for a long winter’s nap when out of the silence there arose such a clatter. The teacher began to speak, “Remember, there is movement in your stillness.” He was praying that was the end of it, but oh no,  “And there is stillness in your movement.” Naturally, that unnecessary follow-up made him very tense. The kind of tension that arises from wanting very badly to slap someone and knowing you can’t. Why do we yoga teachers feel the need to drop these meaningless turds of wisdom on people?
